ADOPT - A - SITE
Adopt - a - Site is a program of Metro Philippines which allows a sponsor --- through monetary assistance and communication --- to be influential in the ongoing evangelization to hundreds of children who attend a particular Sidewalk Sunday School site in an impoverished area .
Adopt-a-Site program was designed for two reasons:
1. To allow us to partner with additional churches and open more Sidewalk Sunday School sites.
2. To bring an opportunity to build supportive relationships between the Pastors and their church team with caring individuals from other countries.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Financial assistance of $130 US per month is the amount needed to operate a site with about 250 kids per week. The funding given by the sponsor to her/his site will be used for the purpose of bringing Sidewalk Sunday School to the children who live in the area. It will also be used for visiting them in their homes each week.
These finances will be used for the children at the SSS site for food treats, incentives, Quiet Seat prizes, game prizes, balloons, props, curriculum, visitation flyers and transportation. It's main purpose is to bring them the Sunday School program.
METRO MINISTRIES RESPONSIBILITY
The Metro Office handles all the monies which come in and designates them to a site of our choice. Most of our sites are in dire financial need which makes it difficult for us to choose. It is done with great thought, consideration and prayer.
Funds for the Adopt - a - Site are disbursed each week to the staff in charge and to the Pastor of the church operating the Sunday School site. These are signed for; and liquidations must be turned in to the Director of Metro Philippines at the end of each week during the semester. Funds for the following week will only be released after the liquidation of the previous week's funds. This way we are able to check that the purchases are appropriate for the Sunday School site. The accountabiity also helps the leaders be good stewards.
Metro Philippines will continue to run Night Training, semestral workshops, supply curriculum, print flyers, hold Team Leader meetings, and workers' parties for the sponsored site. Each site has a designated Coordinator to assist the site leaders and to report information to the Metro office as needed.
YOUR ADOPT - A - SITE
You would receive information about your site, pictures, and communication updates from the Head Office. You can be as involved as you want to be.
There is also opportunity for you to come stay with us, visit your site, and meet the people involved.
As a sponsor, you are encouraged to communicate frequently with the Pastor, Team Leader, and church team operating the site. This has been a very important component in our ministry, to bring support and love to these pastors to encourage them to keep going.
The bond between the sponsors and church leaders has been very strong.
