METRO MINISTRIES PHILIPPINES
The year 2001 witnessed the beginnings of Metro Philippines with Pastor Bill Wilson and Pastor Paul Chase of Alabang New Life Chritstian Center at the forefront. Today, with a staff of 16, we are in partnership with 57 local churches and reaching an average of 20,000 children each week of Sidewalk Sunday School.
Metro Philippines provides an opportunity for many people to work towards fulfilling the Great Commission. It allows individuals to utilize their areas of knowledge while providing a common vision in which to focus these strengths . Primarily organized as an outreach to help underprivileged children in Metro Manila, it has become an example for church partnering and effective evangelism. Metro is a special ministry focused on training and sending out men and women to carry out its vision.
As a Training center, this work has developed into a movement across the Philippines to build up teams from the local churches using methods and principles developed by Pastor Bill Wilson. Through our main tools of Sidewalk Sunday School and Visitation, we are able to effectively reach the children and their families, not only in the Philippines but in other countries as well.
In Metro Manila and in the nearby province of Rizal; as well as Palawan, Davao, Digos, Iligan City, Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro and Pangasinan, we are continually equipping pastors and volunteers to do the work --- many of whom have previously been the ones sitting on the tarps during Sidewalk Sunday School. Metro Philippines has a volunteer base of over 1500 workers from the local church.
Metro Philippines is funded through the generosity of people who have heard Pastor Bill speak at churches around the world and by our Won by One Child Sponsorship Program.
Metro Philippines is a non-stock non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It is recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, and by the Philippine Council of NGO Certification.
